A Night on the Town

I have a weakness for bright colours and chinoiserie designs.  It's such a luxurious, exotic look that I find myself immediately drawn to it.   With the new Logan set from PM it has taken it up a notch in a sexy bustier,  mini skirt - and for a fun touch - a fluffy coat.  This lux set is available at the Black Fair until July 23, 2023.

Lost in Paradise

In real life I am terrified of water.  But I have to admit - there are times, when I can see the absolute beauty of it such as when the light hits it and all you see are sparkles.  That's what these separates from I.M. Collection remind me of.   The white colour also reminds me of the white tips of the waves when they reach the shore and the sleeves the swelling of the waves.   I like it very much  it's both sexy and romantic - which reminds me of those romantic honeymoon spots you find in bridal magazines.  Now I just need to find Mr.  Right to go with or perhaps just a Mr. Right Now...

 Everyone knows these times are tough.  Everything costs more than they really should and so when we do spend money we have to be careful to make sure we get our money's worth.  Even in SL, where we can have anything we want has started to cost a more substantial amount and we don't seem to get the same amount of Lindens we used to.   What I love about Ben's Beauty is that so many of the new releases are put on sale for 99L, have extensive customization HUDS and come as separates, so you can wear each piece independently.   One such set is Heidi.

Time for Tassles

 A long time ago, PM released the Coraline dress, a one shoulder satin gown with a long assymetrical hemline, a flirty back view to show off an avatars assets, an exotic feathery shoulder piece and a fascinator style hat.   I love the gown but could never find just the right accessories for it.  Until now.

Introducing the new Cora earrings from PM.  They are a mix of precious metals, bright gemstone colours and completed with a shoulder dusting tassle.

In Touch with Nature

 

For as long as I can remember, I have loved nature.  Thankfully, I live in Alberta where we have a ton of natural beauty with trees, mountains, forests, fields, meadows and the badlands (which sound awful but have a beauty all their own).   So it's no surprise that in my Second Life I seek out places to explore that are nature themed.   I have travelled to  many such places since I have started blogging but for this picture,  I needed to look no further than my own (SL) backyard.  It struck me as the perfect setting to show off one of the floral patterns of the Isla Dress by I.M. Collection.

Art Meets Fashion

As the Phoenix Rises

 

There is something extremely inspirational about the phoenix legend.  Sometimes in life, we experience things that take the life from us.  Sometimes it's a loss of a loved one, sometimes it's a drastic life change among many other things.  Regardless, there is one certainty: we are forever changed.  In a real way it is like a part of ourselves have died, and in order to go forward, we need to rise to the challenge of recovering or risk losing ourselves completely.  

Second Life is much the same.  In the past 20 years we have seen so many changes and some were so profound and far reaching that none of us experience SL the same way as we used to.  Things like mesh had that kind of effect.  But on a more personal level, we have all met people that had an effect on our lives and then lost them in some way.  If we were close to them, like the phoenix, we need to rise out of the ashes of their loss.  

Sometimes, however, the loss is temporary and we get some measure of that old life back.  There is also a chance that our lives take a turn we did not expect and that going through that experience makes us stronger than we ever thought we could be.
