Life's a Beach

 When taking this picture of the new PM Ipanema set,  I headed to the beach.  Not to get all philosophical, but life is like a beach sometimes.  Sometimes the water is calm, it's sparkled surface inviting you to take a dip into it's cool depths.   On a hot day, nothing is more tempting and the experience is pleasant for those able to get in for a swim.    There are other times though, when the waves are tempestuous, crashing back and forth angrily onto the shore, the waves rising and white with froth.  As waves like that often accompany hurricane force winds, most people want to avoid the water entirely as it will not be a pleasant experience if they go near it.  

When the waves of life crash onto our shoreline, it's easy to become fearful.  When the surface of our lives are calm it's easy to feel peace.  But some people get it backwards.   Some see the crashing of the waves and instead of feeling fear they feel hope, looking to the future when life won't be so chaotic.  It gives them the strength they need to keep going.  Some people look at calm weather though and feel afraid.  They know that at some point that peace will fall apart like breaking waves do when they hit a rock. This makes hope elusive to them, and a loss of hope is a serious detriment to living a happy, secure life.

I wish all that read this have hope and that the times of chaos will be few and not last long.

The Vibrance of Summer

 I am not a fan of the colour orange.  But when the temperatures start to rise, it just seems right to turn up the intensity of the clothing palettes too.  After all - this is when the flowers begin to bloom in their vibrant hues.   Instead of water being frozen over it becomes sapphire blue - made even more intense by the reflecting the blue of the sky.  The trees become every shade of green imaginable as their leaves come out to greet the new summer.  Flowers begin to bloom in their rainbow of colours.  It's almost as though,  as soon as spring comes the neutral world of white, brown, and black of winter is being painted over, bringing it to life. 

That's how I feel when I look at the colour palettes available for the new Amanda set by PM.  Here is a little bit of information about it:   The set has two styling options - TOP+SKIRT or SKIRT ONLY.   There are two sets available:

A Fashionable Home

One of the most popular sources to find out the latest trends regardless of where one resides in the world is Vogue magazine which has several international editions such as British, Paris (France), New Zealand, Australia and, in 1964, Vogue Italia.   

At this months premiere of the Elite Event, Poulet Koenkamp gives her own tribute to Italian fashion with her newest creation called Milan.  It is a very sexy and summery top, pants and high heeled sandals set and is aptly described in the press release as being: "simple lines, bold design".

Perhaps for those who love fashion - it doesn't matter where it resides in the world - whether that world is real or virtual as a great design with exquisite details is always appreciated.

Lake of the Enchanted Butterflies

 There are lands of enchantment in Second Life.  One such place is the main store for 8f8.  There  you will find whimsical furniture, structures and other decorative items.  But really there is more to it than that.  Going to that sim is like stepping into a tranquil place where one can't help but feel at peace.  My favourite place is where all the butterflies are - I love their transparent luminescence and I never get tired of watching them.   Visiting such a place makes it ironic that there is a new event starting June 7 called Enjoy SL.  This is where you will find the new gown by PM called "Blanche".    Here is the official press release:

A Visit to Jilin Estates

  When I seen the Asian inspired prints included in the HUD for the new Chantal top from PM I fell in love with them immediately and knew I had to feature one of them.  Once the outfit was put together, instead of staying at my home sim to do the blog picture as I normally do, I knew I had to do a picture that was on location.  That's when I discovered Jilin Estates. I love visiting sims based on places China, Japan and other Far East countries (a visit to Japan is actually on my real life "to do" list). There is such an appreciation for nature and they are often the most beautiful and peaceful places to spend a few hours seeing all the little details.   For a photographer - it is an absolute dream.

All that Glitters

 Beauty is in so many things.  It can be found in boutiques all over the world where even the basic of things is worth more than one person can earn in a lifetime.  Some people pursue gold and diamonds, designer clothing, cars, and homes that are set in exclusive neighborhoods - spending millions of dollars on them.  Some of those things will take your breath away with how beautiful they are.   But I have walked in the Canadian winter time, where the very air sparkles.  And I have seen sunsets that paint the sky with vivid colors.   I have seen deer laying peacefully observing the world around them - not afraid at all.   Most of all, I have seen love expressed in the most beautiful of ways by people I love and complete strangers.   There is a saying that all that glitters is not gold.  They're right.  Sometimes it's even better.

Out and About

 Only in the last few years, I have become fascinated with dystopian stories and there is a wealth of such themed sims in Second Life.  One such sim, though one would never expect it, is the Enchanted Path Horse Trails which is where I went to take this picture.   It was nice to get out and about for exploring any of the sims in Second Life is a fun pastime.  So many creative people in Second Life and makes me happy to be a resident here.  Of course, as nice as it is to get out into the wild, it's always nice to get back to civilization - such as the Cosmopolitan Sales Room where one can pick up the latest PM release called Olivia.
