May Flowers

 

When I first picked up the latest release from PM (on offer for the May 1-13 round of Cosmopolitan) I knew I liked it.  Excitedly,  I attached the HUD and was scrolling through the various textures for the gown, I seen this beautiful dove grey and pale pink one and fell in love with it immediately.   It reminds me of water colour paintings with just a subtle wash of colour so delicate and soft just like a warm spring breeze or tender new blossoms awakening for the first time.    It's full of promise of the new season and the warmer weather to come.

In the Land of Sparkling Wisteria

I love spring.   After months of snow, ice and cold, the higher temperatures invites us to put aside all our winter layers and the colour palette shifts over into soft pastels such as this beautiful pale purple.   With the fairy lights in the wisteria and the gleam and sparkle of silver accents, this is an outfit woven with enchantment and is perfect for any spring goddess.

Blooms of Blushing Pink

 There are certain things, that no matter how many times you see them, no matter how they are rendered or reimagined will always be beautiful.  Sakura (or cherry) blossoms cover the streets in delicate pink snow and the trees themselves burst into bloom each year around this time.  They are everywhere in the world and mark the true beginning of spring blooming between April and May.   They are so beloved that every year cities and countries through the world have yearly Cherry Blossom festivals where people can come out and enjoy them. 

We are so fortunate in Second Life that we don't have to wait for a particular time of year to see them.  They are on artwork, landscape items (such as the trees in the background of this picture from 8f8), clothing, accessories and so much more.  One of my favourite things from PM has always been the Sakura V1 tatoo from PM.  I love it's delicate, water colour design.   While it was released many years ago, it has been updated to be compatible with today's mesh bodies (I am wearing it on Maitreya).  For those who got it and don't mind flaunting it - there is a more risqué version called Sakura V2 where the design is placed under the breasts.   It's definitely too pretty to cover up!

Tempting Fate

June is just around the corner and with it many people in real life will be hearing wedding bells.   Weddings are also a big thing in Second Life with many people partnering up and having huge blowout events for themselves and their friends.  I've been to a few (even been a bride!) and I always wish everyone in them the best.  For those that have been partnered with the same person for a long time much respect goes to them.   Part of the wedding events are often pictures and that brings me to the title of this post.

For me, I love taking pictures - truly I do.  And I have to remind myself of that every time I take them because my computer (while newer) has a tough time with shadows. Every time Second Life tells me in it's not-so-subtle crashing that I can do shadows or I can take a picture but not both.  I have to really coax it to get it to work. When taking this shot every time I hit refresh I felt like I was tempting fate - "Will it save or will it crash?!" 

 But then I see the final image and I think all the headaches and reloads were worth it...Just like love in Second Life...  All the heartache is worth it when you find that one that becomes THE ONE.

Changes

 Any Second Life resident that has been on the grid for any length of time knows that things change.  Like the transitioning of real life seasons, things have changed in Second Life as well since it first began in 2003.   Avatars have become more sophisticated and just as we get used to one thing - we need to change it out for something else - something new.  

Some changes are irritating and hard to get used to (mesh heads still vex me from time to time). Some changes are fun - such as going blonde to show off the new PM Group Gift called Stacey.  It's the details that I find most appealing such as the Battenburg lace on the top, the PM logo on the buckle and if you look very closely at the shorts, you will see stitches on the belt loops and the denim texturing.  

So it shows that while the Purplemoon Creations of a few years ago is now simply PM the incredible quality is still there.  Which really does show as much as things change they stay the same.  

It's a paradox that really needs to be pondered over some ice cream...

On the Other Side

 When a brand you love has a blogger search,  it just makes sense that one would put their name into the ring.  Of course, in my case,  looking at all the incredible bloggers there are in SL  it's  something that one never knows what the results will be.  In this case - please welcome one of the newest team members of the Purplemoon Blogging team - ME!! YAY!!

My very first post had to be something special  and I took my inspiration from a 2012 styling event called, "On this side of Purplemoon".    It was a chance for the fans of Purplemoon Creations to showcase their skills in putting a look together.  It's appropriate I think as that is what her new blogging team will be doing.  I feel privileged to be asked to be a part of this next phase of the brand, and I feel privileged to be among such talents.  

We finally are "on the other side of Purplemoon"!

Nostalgia

It is no secret that I have been a long term fan of Poulet Koenkamp's Purplemoon Creations in Second Life.  Before PM though was Bliss Couture by Amutey DeCuir.   I am also a huge fan of 8f8.  So it was a joy when putting this shot together because there are so many things that I love in it.  While the Emma top is the latest release by Poulet  the pants are a very old release from back when Amutey was still designing.  I love how vibrant the two pieces are and when I attached the hair and the shoes it was almost like it was meant to be.    I just love how the old and new items in SL can be blended so well.   Could explain why I am still a packrat in SL.  One never knows when an old thing will be the perfect thing to complete a look.
